1916-D Mercury Dimes
The 1916-D Mercury Dime is the key date coin for the series. This coin had a mintage of only 264,000 pieces, which is the lowest mintage for the series. It is considered scarce in all grades.
The low mintage for this issue was the result of continued production of the previous design at the Denver Mint. The production would only switch to the new Mercury Dime late in the year with a limited number of pieces struck.
The absolute key to a complete collection, this issue commands a strong premium at all grade levels. Examples are frequently encountered in well circulated grades and strong premiums are paid for higher grade or uncirculated examples.
